UFC president , Dana White, has just announced at the ‘UFC Unstoppable’ press conference that at UFC 199, Luke Rockhold will defend his middleweight title against the man he took it from, Chris Weidman. And in the co main event, Dominick Cruz will defend his title, as he fights Urijah Faber for a third time.
Luke Rockhold is 5-1 in the UFC and 15-2 overall. Rockhold dethroned Chris Weidman of the middleweight title, back at UFC 194. Chris Weidman’s loss to Rockhold was the first loss of his MMA career. He’s 9-1 in the UFC and 13-1 overall.
Dominick Cruz returned to the UFC’s Octagon at UFC Fight Night 81, after a 15-month layoff, and dethroned TJ Dillshaw to once again become the UFC bantamweight champion.
Urijah Faber is 9-4 in the UFC and 33-8 overall. Faber is a long-time MMA veteran who’s been credited for bringing a lot of attention to the smaller weight class fighters. However, he’s 0-6 in his last six title fights, and will likely have his last chance at winning a UFC title, in this third fight with Cruz.
UFC 199 takes place on June 4th, 2016 at the LA Forum in Inglewood, California.
